Koreans have dubbed her, "Fairy On Ice"

Or in America, she would be called, Yu-Na Kim. I’m so proud and totally rooting for Kim Yu-Na. She’s so beautiful on the ice and she’s so young! Only 19 years old! She is the front runner and and top figure skater in the world.

As expected, Yu-Na is dominating the CF world in Korea with her official sponsors being Nike, Kookmin Bank, and Hyundai Motor Company (me = jealous). Her CF’s include multiple commercials (where she also sings), T.V. specials and a new touchscreen phone from Samsung, the “haptic” dubbed “Yuna’s Haptic” It seems her star power rises with the more medals she wins. She’s so young, I just hope she doesn’t put all her worth of value in the number of CF’s she gets, I know how the Korean entertainment industry puts enormous pressure on their stars.

Nonetheless, it’s great to see such a promising skater from Korea. Being American, I love America but I also love Korea where I was born and where my mother is from.
